OSTEOPATHY
Osteopathy is a Holistic Form of Manual Therapy where skilled practitioners use their medical and musculoskeletal knowledge to detect, treat & prevent a variety of health problems.
Osteopaths are highly trained medical professionals who complete 4 years of training and 1000+ hours of clinical placement.
In Osteopathy we believe that the Well-being of an individual depends on everything in the body being Balanced so that it can work in Harmony. If any structure (Bone, Ligament, Fascia, Muscle) is not in ‘alignment’ or is affected in some way (this could be through compression, tearing, tension) then the Functioning and Harmony of ones body will be altered.
As Osteopaths we are trained to diagnose and treat these Structural ‘Imbalances’ and give your body a helping hand to heal itself. We create a Treatment Plan that is specific to your needs and symptoms.
This Treatment plan will often involve a combination of massage, manipulations, articulations and stretching to treat your specific symptoms, along with at home advice and aftercare to help prevent them from reoccurring.
You can find more information about what osteopathy is, what we treat and what to expect in your first session in our blog posts.

PILATES
Pilates is a low impact exercise that was developed by Joseph Pilates in Early 20th Century Germany.
It is a system of repetitive exercises that focus on strengthening the body, specifically the core, improving postural alignment, flexibility & balance, and improving ones overall fitness & wellbeing. The movements used help target those deeper small core muscles that are often overlooked, and improve global muscular tone & strength in order to support our body in everyday movements.
It is a Holistic exercise that focuses on the Mind-Body-Soul Connection.
When taking part in a Pilate’s class you will often be asked to focus on your breathing, precision of movement and tuning in to how your body is feeling. By focusing on all these things Pilates becomes a very Mindful and Immersive Exercise.
While there are Two Main Forms of Pilates - Matwork & Reformer; there are a number of tools and specialised equipment that can be also be used, such as the Cadillac & Wunda chair, to increase the challenge of the exercises.
Pilates offers numerous benefits and is a great form of exercise for people of all ages and abilities, especially those who are looking for physical rehabilitation from an injury or want to prevent one!
Your Class will be led by a highly trained Osteopath who will be able to offer modifications for injuries.
Our Holistic approach to Pilates will mean your class includes core strengthening exercises, flexibility, mindfulness and meditative breathing, all aimed at improving your whole wellbeing.
